What is it?
An electronic book (variously, e-book, ebook, digital book, or even e-edition) is a book-length publication in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, and produced on, published through, and readable on computers or other electronic devices. The development in technology has made self-publishing easier than ever.
Who uses it?
BIOL3238 and BIOL2005 use iBook course content. iBooks is an e-book application by Apple Inc. for their iOS operating system and devices. iBooks Author, allows anyone to create interactive textbooks for reading in iBooks; and the iBookstore contains a textbook category.
How does it work?
- Select a template
Organise the sections of your book to build your chapter list and sub sections inside chapters. This will make it easier for readers to browse the book. - Add text and media
You can add text and images or even interactive elements, such as movies, diagrams, presentations, galleries, 3D objects, and chapter reviews. - Publish
Documents created with iBooks Author may be exported as PDF files or be published to the Apple iBooks Bookstore or iTunes U.
